Mona Freeman passes away at 87

It is indeed very unfortunate that a great artists and painter has departed this world. Mona Freeman was an inspiration to many. We all know her usual roles as the perpetual teenager in movies like The Heiress,Junior Miss, Dear Ruth and I Was a Shoplifter. The actress has passed away at the age of 87 and today it has been almost two weeks since she left this world. According to her daughter Monie Ellis, she died on May 23rd in her Beverly Hills home after fighting with a long illness.

As we said earlier, Mona Freeman was a very talented actress but she was also a remarkable painter and one of her masterpieces, a portrait of Mary See, has been displayed for years in See's Candies stores across the U.S. Reflecting upon her career, we see that she has done some amazing roles over the years. She has played Marian Almond, the cousin of Olivia de Havilland's character who gets engaged in WilliamWyler's acclaimed film The Heiress(1949). Then we saw her again as as 13-year-old Lois Graves in In Junior Miss (1945) where she would meddle in people's love lives along with older sister. And in That Brennan Girl (1946), she played the role of Ziggy, who learns some terrible habits from her mother.

She took up interest in arts by the time Mona Freeman reached the age of 30, she had become bored with the profession of acting because she was always being cast as a bobbysoxer. After that she turned all her efforts towards painting.
