Kylie Jenner and her sister, Kendall Jenner, ruled at the Much Music Video Awards which took place recently.
The pop group Hedley grabbed an award for “Anything” while Drake too won accolades for his performance and supreme talent. The Jenner sisters were quite a pair and gave some rational enlightenment to the show.
"This crowd is amazing!" said 18-year-old Kendall at the onset of the show. "We're here to make sure this year's MMVAs are the best ever," added 16-year-old Kylie.
Among the star entertainment features of the evening were the musical act Lorde and the Brit songster Ed Sheeran. In the beginning, Kendall spoke of how the event was amusing and amazing.
Meanwhile, her sister Kylie said that they were there to ratify the fact that the MMVAs this year were the most attractive they had even been. This time they were indeed very cool and classic in their delivery and overall demeanor.
There was a time when they were nothing more than a childish bash. Still, images of Avril Lavigne unconsciously exposing her buttocks to the crowd and Gavin Rossdale battling fans to get his instrument back are extant in the memory of the collective unconscious.
But all that is no more. Now, although the event is fun-filled, the rebellious factor is rather subdued. And it is a good thing too. A time comes when everyone must put away childish toys and become a reasonable adult.
David Bowie had once remarked that the MMVAs looked like they were organized by kids. But today he probably has had to eat his words since no such thing goes on at the MMVAs. They don’t even closely resemble a childish show of irresponsibility.
Ariana Grande’s “Problem” got sung towards the end of the show. Many singers and musicians showcased their talented repertoires on the platform. It was indeed a night to remember and the crowd rocked to the performances on stage.
The two sisters Kylie and Kendall had a good time too. They were wise in that they didn’t allow their passions to overtake the sense of normality and stability which governed the whole event.
