Jennifer Love Hewitt Returns to TV with "Criminal Minds"

There is good news for the fans of Jennifer Love Hewitt. They will be able to see their favorite actress again on TV, seven months after the birth of her baby girl, Autumn.

See Photos of Jennifer Love Hewitt below.

Jennifer Love Hewitt gave birth to Autumn last November. This is the first child of Hewitt from her husband Brian Hallisay whom she married last year.

Before giving birth, the 35-year-old actress was working on a Lifetime series "The Client List" and played the role of Samantha Dale Horton. But she has done the season finale of the US TV drama in June 2013, the same month she got engaged to Hallisay.

She has not played any role on TV after giving birth. But the news was announced Tuesday that Jennifer Love Hewitt will play a regular role on CBS series "Criminal Minds" starting this fall.

Jennifer Love Hewitt will play the role of Kate Callahan who happens to be a "seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit."

"We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast," said executive producer and showrunner Erica Messer.

"Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season."

By joining the cast of "Criminal Minds," Jennifer Love Hewitt is not only returning to TV but to CBS too. Previously, she worked in the CBS supernatural drama "Ghost Whisperer" and played the role of Melinda Gordon for five seasons.

Other than "The Client List," Love Hewitt also worked in the Lifetime series "Party of Five." She also played a role in “The Lost Valentine,” opposite Betty White. She played the title role of an Academy Award-winning actress in “The Audrey Hepburn Story.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt also played roles in many films including the hit horror movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer," its sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Heartbreakers,” with Sigourney Weaver, Gene Hackman and Ray Liotta, “The Tuxedo,” opposite Jackie Chan, “Garfield” and “Garfield 2: A Tale of Two Kitties.”

Other cast of "Criminal Minds" include Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, AJ Cook and Kirsten Vangsness. It is the production of ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

The 10th season of "Criminal Minds," featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt, will be premiered on Wednesday, October 1, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
