Sony Xperia Z1 Compact finally arrives unlocked in the US

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact finally arrives unlocked in the US

The mini flagship is available unlocked but only through its online store

After a long wait, the Xperia Z1 Compact has finally arrived in the US but this mini flagship smartphone is only available online in its unlocked form. With rumors already circulating about the Xperia Z3 Compact, it seems quite late that this Z1 mini version arrived at this time. Even more surprising is the fact that Sony thought it wasn’t at all awkward that they left out the still non-existent Xperia Z2 Compact. Even in the US, Sony is known as a sought after Android OEM and this is why it is all the more surprising that it wasn’t so eager and quick to cater to the country’s market.

This late launch of the phone could actually go against the company because those who had been looking forward to buy it most likely gave up waiting. We saw the phone for the first time at CES this year in January and the phone was available all through the world except for the US. the Xperia Z2 has also been revealed but it hasn’t reached the US market as yet. Though the Z1 compact has arrived 6 months later, it still might be a tempting offer for some.

As far as the mini versions are concerned, the Xperia Z1 compact is the king of them and it even towers over larger and newer devices like the HTC One mini 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. The phone features a high end processor and 2 GB worth of RAM and not to forget its handy and manageable size which makes it more attractive.
