Back to School Time is Here and Every Student Should be Prepared

Asus' first Chromebook, the C200, is now up for pre-order at Amazon for $244.49

It is that time of year again time to start thinking about back to school every student will want this new Chromebook from Asus.

In addition to the 11.6-inch C200, Asus has a 13.3-inch model in the works, dubbed the C300, which will also reportedly be available for $249. That's right folks, Asus is offering both the 11.6-inch and the 13.3-inch models for the same price.

Although Asus during the launch of the Chromebooks that the C200 and C300 would be available at a starting price of $249, it was assumed that the price was for the C200, and that the increase in the screen size would warrant a higher price. That doesn't look to be the case, as an official Asus representative revealed to GigaOm that both the C200 and C300 would be available for $249.

Both Chromebooks share similar specs, which include a screen resolution of 1366 x 768, Intel Bay Trail-M series CPU (2.4 GHz Celeron N2830 with 1 MB of L2 cache), 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage 720p HD camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n out of the box (Wi-Fi ac functionality will be enabled via a future software update) and Bluetooth 4.0. In terms of connectivity, you get HDMI (1.4) out, 3.5 mm audio jack, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port and an SD card slot. The battery life on the C200 is touted to be at 10 to 11 hours based on the usage.

If you're interested in the 11.6-inch C200, head over to Amazon from the link below to pre-order the Chromebook. The device will begin shipping from June 26. There is no word on when the larger C300 is going to launch, but it shouldn't be too long now.

Every student need this product to have a great and productive school year so be sure to order yours today. Asus' first Chromebook, the C200, is now up for pre-order at Amazon for $244.49

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
