The media event announcing the iPhone 6 would take place one month before on Tuesday, September 16. The source also revealed that the whole month of October would be very busy for Apple retail and that especially October 14 would be an "immense" day.
The iPhone 6 is rumored to come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes. The rumor that the iPhone 6 front panel would be made from sapphire is likely false, based on a supply chain report from two days ago. There are rumors that the larger iPhone 6 faces production issue and is launching later. October 14 is already rather late. The iPhone 5S launched September 20 which was ideal as Apple could fully leverage the 4th quarter sales period.
