Golf genius and prodigy, Tiger Woods may yet test his limits at Valhalla. He is to apply for a registration extension of the US PGA Championship.
After his lumbago healed up, Tiger made a surprising arrival on the links scene. There is still time for Woods to sign up for registration.
According to Telegraph, 38-year-old star golfer "officially had until 5pm to register, but provisions allow for injured players to sign up on arrival – so long as the PGA of America is informed.
Woods’s camp apparently did so yesterday and he now has until his 8.35am tee-time tomorrow to decide if he will play."
The talented champion of champions reneged after 8 holes. Woods has had invasive surgery on his back region. He is still in the convalescent phases of his issue with spinal pain and inflammation.
The only alarming thing was that this was Woods’ tenth competitive session. He returned for a time period to his Florida residence where the physicians saw him for a checkup or two.
Things were left in a mysterious lull as Tiger withdrew from the tournament and didn’t even attend a press conference that was due.
There is an optimistic feeling in the air that Tiger may yet play the next round of the game of precision and poise. His personality is not one that gives up easily.
“I’m optimistic,” Joe LaCava told reporters after spending the last two days plotting the course at Valhalla. “I’m hoping he plays. So I’m just doing whatever work I would normally do.”
There are two individuals who are especially concerned about Woods. They happen to be John Huh and Tom Watson. The former is an alternate and the latter is the Ryder Cup captain.
Watson especially faces many questions regarding Tiger. So the main crux for Tiger Woods right now is whether he will be a participant or just a spectator.
And it all depends on his health and its vicissitudes. His rabid fans may have been let down for the present moment but not for long. They want more and more of the “Tiger Spirit” and cannot get enough of him.
He has it in him to fight the good fight at Valhalla. And nobody can stop him from his fate and destiny. For a person like Tiger makes his own choices and sticks to them in the long run. That is why he is a winner in the first place.
