Apple could choose to make the bigger, 5.5-inch model official at a later point before the end of the year.
According to what the latest information says about the iPhone 6, we might be seeing the latest gen Apple iPhone on September 9th. This is the date we had all been waiting for so anxiously for the past couple of months and as we neared the announcement of the sixth generation of Apple smartphone, we had been bombarded with tons of leaks. Some rumors from last month had also claimed that the phone would be unveiled somewhere in the mid of September.

This Apple gathering scheduled for the 9th of September is most certainly going to showcase the iPhone 6 which has been leaking tremendously. However, the query regarding the different versions of the iPhone 6 still remains and we have got no clue so far whether we will be seeing both the variants or just the 4.7 inch one. Some recent leaks have suggested that Apple might bring along the 5,5 inch version later this year as the phablet version is experiencing some bottlenecks in the production process.
The most recent leak pertaining to this larger 5.5 inch version claims that Apple is going to equip the bigger version with a beefier processor which is going to be clocked at a higher speed as compared to the smaller 4.7 inch version.
