Sony unveils new features from update and date of the PS TV release
At Gamescom 2014, Sony introduced some new features which are being welcomed into the PS4 and this announcement on Tuesday also came along with some briefing on the release of the PS4 system update v2.00 which is expected to some this fall. Sony also shared the release dates for the PlayStation TV and unveiled some upcoming new games for the gaming console.
One of the most highly anticipated aspects of these features is the new innovative game-sharing experience called 'Share Play' which allows players to create an 'online local co-op experience' by inviting friends to join a game. This new exciting feature is going to arrive as part of the new PS4 update and the good news is that user you have invited does not even need to have a copy of that particular game. Apart from co-op, these invited users can also handle the controls of the host users so they can easily accomplish certain tasks if they need to.
On its PlayStation blog, Sony talks freely about the Share Play feature which is going to give you a better understanding of the entire concept and its uses. It says, You'll be able to invite your friend online to play against the Miami Heat for the championship as the San Antonio Spurs in NBA2K, tackle the challenging Towerfall Ascension Quest Mode together, or aide, heal, and protect you as Igniculus in Child of Light's local co-op mode. With Share Play, you can even jump into a game to assist a friend. For example, if there is part of a game that you can't quite finish, you can invite a friend to take over your controls. Like handing over the controller to a friend on your couch, your screen will be shared as your friend gets through the part of the game that has been giving you trouble-can't get past that part in The Last of Us: Remastered when you're hanging upside down? Get a little help."
Well, it is not just this feature which is worth our time and excitement. Luckily we are in for quite a big treat with the PS4 update because it is going to bring tons of new features. Some of them worth mentioning are the 'much-requested' broadcast and video share features, which will allow users to upload gameplay footage and enjoy dedicated app support for YouTube. There is also a 'What's New' feature which comes with a redesigned real-time activity tracker through friend-of-friends suggestions. And this is just not it. According to Sony there are more features lined up and they will be announcing those later this year.
Apart from this the highly anticipated PlayStation TV set-top box is also coming to America on October 14th and will reach the PAL countries, including India, on November 14th. The PS TV allows users to access movies and TV shows from the PlayStation Store and stream download PS3, PlayStation 1, PS Vita and PSP games.
