I am still not getting over this. I can't believe that the leaked iPhone 6 rear design is representing the final product.
The leaked iPhone 6 photos have been very consistent over the last weeks. They all show the same very thin design with rounded edges and minor adjustments. Now there also fully assembled iPhone 6 photos that are supposed to give us the idea of the final look thanks to Feld & Volk. The luxury iPhone accessory maker has leaked iPhone 6 parts over the last weeks like several others have. The leaked rear shell of the iPhone 6 is where the big problem lies. There are bigger isolation gaps than on the iPhone 5S. This would still be ok, but what is a total no go are the isolation gaps along the corners and upper and lower edges. This looks horrible. Just compare the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 5S rear side in the above image.

The iPhone 5S is extremely elegant and clean. The iPhone 6 looks like a DIY welding project. I cannot and will not believe that Sir Jonathan Ive is allowing this design. I believe the talk about the technical necessity, but there must be another visual design solution for this.
It even gets worse. Macrumors posted a schematic of the iPhone 6 rear side that again features the ugly isolation gap lines, but on top of that a rear camera that has a ring that is sticking out. The protruding ring is 0.67-0.77mm high. It is less than a millimeter, but that is going to a very noticeable. This would mean the iPhone 6 cannot lie flat on its back. Something like that destroys the slickness of the device. I again cannot imagine Jonathan Ive is putting up with that.
I am still hopeful that we get pleasantly surprised on September 9 with a stunning iPhone 6, but I am getting scared.
