Middle East website EDGARDaily.com reports that the store will be located at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates
The retail job listings posted by Apple were not just a hint but a clear cut indication of Apple’s intentions and what it was planning in the UAE. It wasn’t long before we all figured out that Apple was building the first official Apple store in the Middle Store and Dubai happened to be the luckiest pick of Apple for this store which is not just Middle East’s first Apple store but also the largest one in the world. According to reports by EDGARDaily.com, which is a Middle East website, the store is going to open up in Dubai's Mall of the Emirates and will be Apple's biggest retail location to date.
The report says: “Our undisclosed source said that the store – which will be the biggest Apple has ever built – was originally planned to replace the current cinema complex. The timing of the recent job adverts suggest the store could have a planned opening for the first quarter of 2015.”
The Mall of the Emirates opened its doors to the public in September 2005 and is now home to more than 700 shops and services which expand over 2.4 million square feet and this is enough to suggest why the mall was the perfect location for an Apple store. Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Dubai back in February and took pictures with the official Apple resellers. He also met with UAE Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and though the reason for his trip to Dubai wasn’t disclosed, it is now quite obvious that it was to discuss the plans for this largest Apple store.
