When IFA 2014 kicks off next month in Berlin, LG will announce two new phones under its L series. Called the L Fino and L Bello, these phones, LG says, are powerful alternatives to other high-end smartphones in the market.

LG is specifically targeting teenagers and first-time phone owners residing in areas with growing 3G technologies, particularly in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Motorola is using the same strategy with its Moto G and Moto E.

LG is also borrowing Samsung's playbook by retaining the signature features of its specky LG G3 phone. Features like the Rear Key button, Knock Code, and the flambouyant QuickCircle cases are used on the phones.

The LG L Fino has a 4.5-inch display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. On the other hand, the LG L Bello will have a larger 5-inch screen, a slightly faster 1.3GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 2,540mAh battery. LG didn't reveal the pricing and availability of the phones, but we'll definitely find out next month.
