The producer, Suge Knight suffered from gunshot wounds at Chris Brown’s party which took place awhile back.
Chris Brown personally hosted this party just one day before MTV’s Video Music Awards at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. Brown also posted a photo on his Instagram on Saturday night, with the caption: “Pre-VMA Party @1oakla tonight! #XTheAlbum 09/16/14.”
Eyewitnesses and Suge's family told TMZ, "Shots rang out at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood at around 1:30 AM Sunday ... and Suge Knight was shot twice and taken to the hospital by ambulance where he was rushed into surgery ..."
A source close to Suge said, "He was shot in the stomach and arm and apparently in other places as well."
Those present on the occasion ran out into the open shouting and crying at the top of their lungs. Whoever had fired the shots managed to escape.
Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri'chard and Apple de Ap all said that "they were inside the pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown when they heard 4 shots ring out inside the club."
While the sheriffs and deputies swooped on the party scene and brought law and order to the situation, the perpetrator of the crime was nowhere to be seen.
"I was about to leave, and all of a sudden I heard gunshots," one witness, who want to remain unidentified, told LATimes. "I saw a bunch of people running out. I ran out with them.... The cops had their guns drawn towards the doors, and it was a crime scene from then on."
Suge Knight suffered from two wounds and was taken to a hospital nearby where he is being treated by surgical means. He will survive this mishap which is a miracle in itself.
Suge despite his wounds was capable of walking to the police car outside which conveyed him to the medical facilities.
TMZ posted the video of the incident which shows that "Suge walked out on his own power ... a cop spotted him and walked the rap mogul to the police car where Suge sat. Suge was then put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital."
Another man and a woman are among the injured. They too are receiving treatment. There was blood spattered all over the area and it had to be cordoned off by the law enforcement authorities.
According to the sheriff, footage showed that a man carrying a gun walked up to Suge and shot him twice and then left in a hurry. "We believe it was a crime of opportunity," Sheriff's Lt. John Corina said.
This was obviously a crime that was dependent upon the opportunity to strike against a victim due to a personal vendetta. The identity of the shooter remained a mystery.
"This was just a regular night of fun on the Sunset Strip, and it was disrupted by criminals," West Hollywood Mayor John D'Amico said. "Hopefully the Sheriff's Department will find out who the person or persons were and prosecute them to the full extent of the law."
Chris Brown tweeted after the sad shooting incident. Read his tweet below.
It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullshit!!!— Chris Brown (@chrisbrown) August 24, 2014
49-year-old Suge had made many enemies and the gangs he was up against obviously carried hatred in their hearts against him.
What was a night party of fun and excitement thus turned out to be a crime scene and a whole lot of stink was made thanks to the bad guys who had paid a visit to the venue.
It is hoped that the criminals involved in this heinous crime will be ultimately caught and then they will be given the most exemplary punishment.
But now "Suge is out of surgery," according to family sources. "Suge was shot 6 times. He's currently in ICU, but is expected to recover."
Meanwhile, Suge Knight’s family and friends have requested his fans and well-wishers to pray for his quick recovery from the gunshot wounds.
"The family of Suge Knight asks that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media," Knight's family said in a statement.
"Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he's human. He's done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that."
