Joan Rivers is currently a bit ill. She has been hospitalized and her daughter, Melissa Rivers, has issued a statement regarding the talk show E! New Fashion Police host and funny woman par excellence.
"I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother," Melissa Rivers said in a statement. "She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
Joan Rivers is undergoing some rest and relaxation at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. Her daughter offered her profuse thanks to all the fans and friends of her mommy dearest.
She beseeched them to remember her mother in their prayers. Her mama was healing from her throat surgery and due to the complications involved in the operation she had to extend her stay at the medical facility.
"She was so lively and sweet," a source told E! News. "She even let people take photos with her. She definitely had a lot of energy! She was cracking jokes about everyone from Jay Leno to Jackie O. She was as sharp as she's ever been."
Let’s not forget that Rivers is above 80 years of age and in the fragile condition she is, care is better than cure.
Reportedly, the outspoken talk show host who spoke out loud, and never put any filters between herself and her audience, had a lull in her respiration due to which she had to undergo emergency procedures to restart her normal breathing patterns.
It was reported that the crisis was over and that Joan had regained her stability and composure. However, exactly an hour after this piece of good news, it became common knowledge that she had entered a medically-caused coma.
And to think that just a day before all this happened, Joan had dined at a restaurant and was in good health and high spirits. She had cracked quite a few hilarious jokes on the occasion too.
Her daughter, Melissa, who loves her very much, flew in to New York City on a flight and was right by the side of her unconscious mother. Melissa’s son, Cooper, was there too.
The rest of the extended family of Joan was also present in the room to give the famous celebrity some company in her time of troubles.
It is hoped that Joan Rivers will recover from this trauma of sorts and God willing enjoy good health in the future too. She just needs to hang in there and our most solemn prayers are with her. Get well soon, Joan!
