Hershey’s new logo is out now. But the only problem with it is it looks eerily like an emoji symbol of a steaming pile of poo.
The Hershey’s Chocolate Company began as a one-man enterprise in Pennsylvania more than a hundred years ago. And it has progressed to the point where there are over 80 different consumer chocolate products being produced by the company.
Thousands of people currently work for the company on a worldwide level and they are the real heroes and heroines who make the manufacturing and distribution of such mood-enhancing and scrumptiously delicious food products possible.
But the new logo is slightly different although the selfsame “Kiss” is shown in its entirety. The way the “R” ensconces the “S” in Hershey’s is a pretty beautiful element too and is part and parcel of the new logo.
Finally, the ending “’S” has been cancelled from the company’s epithet for simplicity’s sake. But there are certain issues too that have dogged the acceptability of this novel form of design.
And it’s all thanks to an excess of knowledge and barrage of information that exists in present times. We are living in an age of information anxiety and anything could bear a close resemblance to anything else.
The problem is that there is a similar symbol of a vile piece of excrement (in simple words also called shit) that is used by the emoji set of images on the Net.
And the Hershey’s Kiss symbol bears a striking resemblance to this exact opposite icon of a stinking pile of human waste. Many websites have posted polling stations to gather the opinions of online frequenters as to what they think of the new symbol.
And many of the people who have been inured to the original emoji of man-poop are saying that the Hershey’s symbol sucks. Well, I guess it’s their opinions against the taste bud experiences of millions of chocolate lovers around the world!
