The Harry Potter starlet, Emma Watson has spoken out on feminist matters and gender equality. And her HeForShe Campaign truly rocks!
Emma Watson, of Harry Potter fame, has started a movement for the equality of the sexes and will fight for the rights of women throughout the world. She is the Women’s Goodwill Ambassador to the UN and she has urged both boys and girls to join in the chorus of female rights.

She has especially called out to the boys and men of the Global Village to contribute in their own way to the good cause. Emma has a fan base that goes into the millions.
She said that she wanted the males to face their mothers, sisters and daughters without any bias on their part. And she also preferred the males to nurture some sensitivity for the opposite sex in their sons.
“I want men to take up this mantle. So their daughters, sisters and mothers can be free from prejudice, but also so that their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too—reclaim those parts of themselves they abandoned and in doing so be a more true and complete version of themselves,” Emma Watson said.
It was the first time that Emma Watson had appeared on the UN platform in the capacity of Goodwill Ambassador. The campaign is the first major effort to change the conditions of women all over the planet.
Emma contends that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. When womankind in the shape of mothers, sisters, wives and daughters influence the male relations in their lives, the results are plain to see.
Treat the unconscious root causes of so much of the conscious behavior you see in the world and you will have done everyone a whole lot of good. It was like Napoleon’s dictum that “give me good mothers and I will give you a great nation”.
"We need boys and men working with us. HeForShe is a global solidarity movement to end gender inequality by 2030. The goal is to engage men and boys as advocates and agents of change in the effort to achieve equality. When women are empowered, the whole of humanity benefits," said UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
Empowerment of females remains the most urgent action that needed to be taken at present. Emma’s speech to the UN gathering was a stunning series of revelations about the facts at hand.
She said that people may remember her as that Harry Potter girl. But she also said that if she did not have the right to begin a genuine change for the better, than who else did? Someone had to make a start.

Emma furthermore said that feminism was not about male-hating. Such negativity had to stop since it was estranging the male half of the planet. She wanted both males and females to unite in making the world a better place. And the war of the sexes had to be put to an end once and for all.
