Despite insurance company finding new iPhones are most durable yet, users discover that pockets can warp them
In a recent report that surprised us all, the Apple users have claimed that their iPhone 6 models have bent while in the pockets. This leads us to believe that Apple had to let go of rigidity when it decided to make the iPhone 6 models slimmer and larger. The much thinner bodies of the new Apple iPhones have led to this misfortunate scenario. The user reports can be seen on various forums, sites and Twitter and they all whine about their iPhones bending after they sat down or bent while carrying the phone in their front or back trouser pockets. Some pictures of bent iPhone 6 models also accompanied these reports.

The reports from users started pouring in after an insurance company claimed that the new iPhones are the most robust ever. Though multiple tests had been conducted on the iPhone 6, yet the test for bending hadn’t been a part of it. Many have also started questioning the chassis of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus which we had previously been told is made out of aluminum alloy, the composition of which has still not been revealed.
The most delicate or rather weak area on the phone appears to be around the volume buttons, where the frame is at its thinnest and creates a fulcrum point around which the phone bends. Another revelation has come our way which is quite surprising and can also be confirmed by the pictures posted by the users. While the iPhone 6 bends, the screens pretty much remains in intact and does not crack. It will of course crack when a user tries to bend back the phone to its original flat composure.
If you have been hearing about such a problem pertaining to a smartphone for the first time then you will certainly be surprises. But this isn’t the first time such a thing has happened with a phone. This is not the first time a large-screened metal-framed smartphone is being bent. Similar complaints came in from Sony’s Xperia Z1, which had a 5in screen and a metal frame, while Samsung Galaxy S4 users had similar complaints, as did BlackBerry Q10 users. Till this point we cant comment on how many users have been affected by this but it seems like there are going to be a lot. According to The Guardian, dozens of people have been found on Twitter whose iPhone 6 or 6 Plus had bent.
