iOS 8.0.1 was intended to fix bugs.

It's been a tough month for Apple. First, there was the iCloud security flaw that led to the distribution of the scandalous celebrity photos on 4Chan. Then came U2's free album on iTunes which, for some reason, irked many users. It also didn't help when the iPhone 6 Plus "bendgate" issue went viral yesterday.

As if things couldn't get any worse, a slew of users took to Twitter to report problems with the recent iOS 8.0.1 update. Some reported that the update bricked their iPhones, while others lashed at Apple for the poor execution. "Poor Apple.  Always give great launch presentations but the execution isn't good," one user said.

Others complained that iOS 8.0.1 affected the 3G connectivity on their devices. Some are even complaining that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor no longer worked after the update. Apple has already issued a response to the complaints. The company is also temporarily pulling back the update, Apple said in a statement.

“We are actively investigating these reports and will provide information as quickly as we can. In the meantime we have pulled back the iOS 8.0.1 update,” a spokesperson said.

In fairness to Apple, new software updates have their own share of glitches. This, of course, can happen to any phone manufacturer. But because it is Apple, the most valuable company in the world today, expectations are sky high. Make a mistake, and everyone sees it.

It's unclear if this mishap will dampen the iOS adoption rate though. The last time we checked, iOS 8 is now running on approximately 46 percent of compatible Apple devices
