But India is not an easy place to do any kind of business. There are several factors that badly affect the car manufacturing process. However, India's new PM Narendra Modi has launched an all-new program bearing the title 'Make in India.'
Actually Modi wants to make India a manufacturing hub. And the CEO of Maruti Suzuki warmly welcomed the PM's call to 'Make in India.' And he is hoping that this program will help control the factors that are making the manufacturing process difficult in India.
"Costs of production in India increase because of various government policies, procedures, regulations and the way some of the laws are implemented," Kenichi said at the launch event of 'Make in India' campaign.
And he also said that Maruti Suzuki was one of those multi-national firms that started manufacturing on a massive scale in the country in 1983. But some hurdles were always there. However, he is hoping that with the launch of 'Make in India' program things will go just fine.
"We are fully confident that, under the ‘Make in India’ program of the Prime Minister, factors that adversely affect the competitiveness of manufacturing will now be removed quickly," he said.
And when all these bad factors will be removed, nothing can stop India from becoming one of the most competitive manufacturing countries in the world, says Kenichi. He also said that India always had the potential to reach the top.
"Over 30 years ago, Osamu Suzuki, Chairman, Suzuki Motor Corporation, recognized the potential of India, both as a market and as a country where high quality manufacturing was possible," he said.
He also said that Maruti Suzuki is the most successful global brand of Suzuki Group Motor Corporation. And the company will continue making affordable and comfortable cars for the people of India.
