Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a warm welcome in the US ahead of the first White House Summit on Monday.
The Indian PM was given a rock star welcome as he was welcomed by more than 18500 people from the Indian origin. The massive crowd gathered in the Madison Square Garden where they were wearing Modi T-shirts and were chanting his name.

Modi will try to unlock India’s economic potential and will also get a red carpet reception at the White House. He had some words of encouragement for the Indian Americans and said that they are an example through their professional success.
Modi also said that there was a time when the whole world thought that every Indian was a snake charmer. Modi said that his people once used to play with the snakes but now they play with the mouse and that mouse makes the whole world run.
Modi also said that he would start lifetime visas for foreigners that were from the Indian origin. This was the proposal that was given by the previous government but they never acted on it.
He also said that the reception from the Indian people was a warm one and that no leader has been given this much love. Modi said that he will give the Indians the India of their dreams.
Modi won the last election in India and he had some harsh words for his critics. The critics want the PM to launch quick reforms. When asked about his critics he said that everyone wants a big vision but they don’t see that he got there by selling tea.
Modi said that he was a modest man and he is thinking of bringing big changes to India. He also made some promises including cleaning the Ganges river and building more toilets.

Modi said that this is India’s century and said that the Indians had the capacity to achieve the potential. Modi hopes that talks with the Americans will go smoothly and those talks will eventually help India grow and become one of the super powers.
