William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy to Star in New Volkswagen e-Golf Commercial

Star Trek fans get ready. William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy alias Cpt. Kirk and Spock are together again on a film set. It is though not for a new Star Trek movie.

Volkswagen moves from Star Wars to Star Trek in their new commercial for the e-Golf. You still remember the extremely popular Volkswagen Super Bowl ad starring a mini Darth Vader from 2011. Now Volkswagen has hired William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy alias Captain Kirk and Spock for the new e-Golf commercial due to be released on October 3 (Friday).

Update: The Star Trek Ad for the e-Golf is here. Watch below

The e-Golf commercial is indeed using the Star Trek theme. VW has released teaser images with Star Trek references including the Vulcan greeting. A video shows people trying to make the vulcan greeting.

Volkswagen also released a short video from the set and selfie videos from the legendary actors. Watch those below.

I am very excited to see the new Star Trek Volkswagen ad. The ad is for the launch of the e-Golf. The e-Golf looks like a normal Golf, but has an electric motor. The e-Golf will go on sale in November with limited availability in select states. I am very suspicious of electric cars that are just "retro-fitted" with an electric engine and not engineered from the ground up.
