She already has a multi-million dollar empire selling Skinnygirl products, so why is Bethenny Frankel "returning" to Real Housewives of New York?
The original Skinnygirl is back! The latest Real Housewives of New York news says Bethenny Frankel is returning to her role she departed four years ago. Gossip-mongers say the former RHONY star is returning for Season 7, perhaps, just in the nick of time to bolster the ratings on the Bravo reality TV show.

Bethenny is supposedly on tap to rejoin the girls of the once-thriving Housewives series that fell out of grace with viewers recently. Today, the fledgling show, sans Frankel, has only about 1 million people tuning in per episode, down from its peak of 2.5 million. Unconfirmed sources say producers scrambled to get back Beth as a cast member.
"Bringing her back is a last-ditch effort.”
Bethenny Frankel -- with her talk show that bore her name recently canceled -- returning to RHONY is perhaps a marriage made in Heaven. It’s not like she’s starving for money, but a paycheck is a paycheck.
Besides, as the founder and face of Skinnygirl Cocktails, which also offers shapewear and a line of books, Frankel can use Real Housewives of New York as a platform for promotion.
Bethenny told media sources back in 2010 that she was leaving the show to spend time with her newborn daughter, Bryn, just 2-months-old at the time.
However, the rumor mill said otherwise. Source countered by saying Frankel was forced off the show by her former BFF and longtime rival, Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon, respectively.
But in her defense, Beth was a new mom and had her hands in quite a few projects at the time, one which included her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy. Are you cringing at how explosive their split and divorce was? Good grief; that finally came to an end recently when a judge ruled on their nasty custody battle.
If Bethenny Frankel returns to Real Housewives of New York, she’ll have to get to know some new housewives. Only Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps, two original members, remain.
