Joe got 41 months and as for Teresa, she was given a lighter sentence of 15 months. The two were guilty and this had been proven in the eyes of the law. And since everyone is equal before the law, their status as reality TV stars did not make an iota of difference to the judge.

Teresa said at the end of the court session that she still asked herself the question that why all this was happening to her. But she tried to stay positive despite the obvious cause for depression and dejection.
"I'm not focusing on that right now. I'm focusing on just staying positive and being like every other mom out there," Teresa Giudice said. "You go through things in life, I don't know why, I mean I'm asking like, 'Why? Why is this happening to me?' "
Both she and her husband hurriedly got into an SUV and left the court premises before they could be hounded by the journalists or paparazzi.
