The Time Warner Cable bill has increased by a whopping hundred bucks in the merest time span of two years.

When trouble comes…it comes in a double form! Take cable bills. They start out at astronomical rates and then up the ante with the passage of time. This is particularly the case when cable companies offer discount promotional offers that soon expire leaving the customers high and dry.

And there is no customer who does not feel the goad of extra charges that are backbreaking in their financial load. One of the customers who happened to be an analyst signed up for the Time Warner Cable “Triple Pay” package about two years ago. Today, the poor dude has to pay double the amount that he had to pay two years back.

Such is the injustice that occurs in the confines of late capitalism. According to the analyst it started at almost $90 and today it had reached a ginormous $190. The rates increase over time and it is hard to judge by how much they would rise.

There are the extra charges in the form of taxes, fees and premium surcharges that wreak further havoc via the burden they place on the individual. The intricate details consist of modem charges and the set-top box that has its separate rate.

These small paraphernalia can add up to quite a humongous bill that needs to be paid at the end of the day. It is almost like going to an eatery and ordering a dish with a normal price and ending up with a bill that has 20% excise duty added to it.

The sales tax makes the bill a big one alright. And this act is almost like the sort of chutzpah that has a child killing his parents and then asking for state support since he is an orphan. Time Warner Cable execs are reasoning that the final bill includes many things which the public is not cognizant of. But the facts speak for themselves.

Meanwhile, TWC is about to merge with Comcast soon. And Comcast is larger than TWC. This will lead to a solo monopoly of a cable company in the United States and this spells trouble down the line. The legitimate question is: where there is no choice, what is one supposed to do?
