Android Lollipop 5.0 is going to be launched this December and Samsung Galaxy S5 will get the update soon after its launch.

Android Lollipop 5.0 previously known as Android L debuts soon with the release of Nexus 9 and Nexus 6. The other models of Nexus will soon download the Android Lollipop update. What about Samsung then? We all know that Samsung has a reputation of slow system updates as Android 4.4 KitKat only started hitting devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 3 and Note 2 in June of 2014. Samsung users had to wait seven months after Google released the stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat. This is because Samsung uses customized Android systems and has to apply its own ‘TouchWiz’ UI.

If Android Lollipop 5.0 is coming out in December then its great news for Android lovers as they are going to experience some new and interesting features to their devices. Android 5.0 is the biggest update to Android since the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich released three years ago.

Android 5.0 brings features such as material design, lockscreen notifications, multiple device compatibility, and support for 64-bit processor along with file sharing through Android beam. The most important feature for Samsung users is that it is expected that the battery life on Samsung Galaxy S5 will see some improvements with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

According to insiders Samsung is thinking of launching the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the new Galaxy 5 and Note 4. The release date is supposed to be somewhere in late November or December. This is supported by the fact that SamMobile tried a test build of Android L running on the Galaxy S5 but it was so slow that they decided not to release it even for their readers to download.

On the other hand Motorola has confirmed the Android 5.0 update for most of its devices in the market, including the Moto X, Moto G, Moto E, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. Moreover Sony stated on its website that its Z series would be the first to receive the update. Let’s see what changes Android 5.0 Lollipop brings to the Android world.
