Mr. Cook expressed his admiration of Dr. Martin Luther King and expressed that he deeply believed in his words “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” He often challenges himself with this question and this is what has led him to realize that his desire for privacy has held him back from doing something important. This is what he is going to do today he stated.

He explained that for years he has been open with people regarding his sexual orientation. Many colleagues at Apple know that he is gay but that does not change the way they treat him. He admitted it has been difficult at times but it has given him the strength and confidence to be what he is and follow his own path.

Mr. Cook explained that America and the world have changed a lot since he was a kid. Today’s society is moving towards marriage equality and the public figures have helped change perceptions and made this culture more acceptable.

In the end Mr. Cook expressed a wonderful thought, that everyone paves the path toward justice together.
