Gal Gadot may no longer be a part of ‘Ben-Hur’ because of Batman v Superman shoot.
Gal Gadot is playing the role of Wonder Woman in the Batman v Superman, Justice League movie. The Israeli actress is having scheduling conflicts because of her major role in the movie. Her commitment to Wonder Woman does not permit her to sign up for another big production. The rumors are she will pass on Timur Bekmambetov’s reboot of “Ben-Hur,” which is produced by MGM and Paramount.

Last year Gadot signed up for the Warner Brother’s Batman v Superman movie that is to be released in 2016. According to WB, Gadot will be playing a major role as Diana in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Although all the members of justice league will get a chance to shine, but Gadot would have to put in extra effort for her role.
She is also acting as Diana in the movie Wonder Woman which is to be released in 2017. Not only this, she will also be joining the heroes in the remaining two parts of the Justice League extravaganza. The movies will be released in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
As, Gadot is extremely busy with the DC Business for the next few years, it is highly unlikely that she will sign up for another large scale production. A few weeks back, she was checking out the part of Esther in the reboot of ‘Ben-Hur’, but because of the heavy workload the Amazonian princess is going to pass on this opportunity.
The famous actress ended her negotiations with Paramount studio after she realized that it is not possible for her to manage the whole thing. She said that she wasn’t able to balance her time between two massive productions, according to The Wrap. Initially, it was reported that Gadot would be playing the leading role in the reboot and it would be a big boost for her career.
The cameras of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will stop rolling before the production of “Ben-Hur” begins, but even then Gadot is not signing up for the movie. It’s either because Gadot has more scenes in the movie or she wants to take a break before her life gets crazy. Another reason for not signing up for the reboot might be that she believes that one epic role at one time is enough.
Since both Justice League Part One and Wonder Woman are hitting the theaters just a few months apart, it is possible their shooting timings are similar. WB will set up such a production schedule that will accommodate not only the leading lady, but also the other in-demand cast members.
So, Gadot has made the right decision by keeping her planner clear for the time being. Since WB is still in the initial stages of founding their DC universe, its better that all the parties involved should sit back and wait. However, this is a big setback for Bekmambetov and his team.
