Nexus 9 tablet makes entrance on Google Play
  • Nexus 9 in white and black
  • Sand color coming soon
  • Google offering Keyboard Folio

The Wi-Fi-only version is available, but you'll have to wait if you'd rather own the LTE edition

If any of you had given up on the Nexus 9 only because you weren’t so enthusiastic about getting a tablet without Wi-Fi support then things are about to change because the tablet is now available at Google Play with Wi-Fi. The tablet can be purchased in either white or black color and its 16 GB version is selling for $399, £319 or AU$479, and the 32GB version for $479, £399 or AU$589. The rising demand for the 32 GB tablet hasn’t surprised us at all but it isn’t such a good news that UK is showing is showing that version as sold out.

Another color is being added to these black and white options for the 8.9 inch tab and it is going to be the sand color and not just that but the tab is also going to get its 4G LTE version soon enough too, as confirmed by Google itself. The LTE model in 32 GB is going to sell for $599, £459 or AU$719. A lot of people had been excited about their purchase of the Nexus 9 predominantly because of the latest OS it was running. The device got the privilege to be the first one of its kind to run Google's new Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system.

As confirmed by Android Central, the Nexus 9 is available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Switzerland. And we can be sure that the device, manufactured by HTC, is pretty tough on the inside. It runs on the 64-bit 2.3GHz Nvidia K1 processor and its display sports a resolution of 2,048x1,536. We are used to seeing the 16:9 aspect ratio but this time Nexus 9 adopted a 4.3 ratio, similar to that of Apple's iPad. The rear camera is an 8 MP with LED flash and there is a 1.6-megapixel front shooter.

If you have had the chance of seeing the device, you would have noticed the pair of stereo speakers on the front outfitted with HTC's BoomSound technology, along with microphones on the top and bottom of the tablet. Other additional features include Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC (near-field communication) technology. You can also get Keyboard Folio which Google is offering for $129 or £110. This accessory is crucially important for the tab users and acts as a protective cover when closed. But while it is open, you have a full keyboard that pairs with your tablet via Bluetooth.
