The man who killed the Al-Qaeda head, Osama bin Laden, finally revealed his identity. He is an ex-SEAL named Robert O'Neill.
It had been more than a dozen years since he had been chasing down and shooting the bad guys. And there were many of them from Al-Qaeda fugitives in Iraq to pirates in Somalia. But the one time Robert O’Neill really fretted about his future was when he dropped from several feet above into the Abbotabad compound of Osama bin Laden in a covert operation to nail the Al-Qaeda chief.

He didn’t know if he would make it back alive. The ex-Navy SEAL said that he was certain that he would die in the mission. May 2nd, 2011 was the date when O’Neill along with a dozen other special forces fighters gatecrashed Osama’s compound. But instead of facing imminent death, what O’Neill did end up doing was firing the bullets that ended Osama bin Laden’s life.
As he entered Osama’s room, the so-called leader of the terrorists was so cowardly, he stood behind his wife. As O’Neill took aim his bullets tore through the cranium of Osama and entered his brain through the forehead killing him instantly.
There is no such thing as Freedom of Speech anymore. People get fired for what they say. Tell me I'm wrong... Sticks and stones may ....BS— Robert O'Neill (@mchooyah) September 12, 2014
It’s been three years since that fateful day in the sweltering heat of May, and today O’Neill has finally taken the dangerous step of revealing his identity as the real killer of America’s most wanted terrorist. After one of his team members published a written account of the whole operation, O’Neill faced an existential choice.
Either he would confess that he was the killer of the nefarious terrorist or the matter would come out in the open anyways. So he took the plunge and revealed his real identity. His name had been doing the rounds and he had been congratulated in private by many members of congress and journalists were also asking around for him.

While a major part of being a Navy SEAL is not to reveal your identity, O’Neill’s ID had been up for grabs due to the news leaks that had plagued him since his successful mission. And when he met with some of the relatives of victims of 9/11, he decided that the time had come to tell all regarding his role in killing the most dangerous man in the world.
According to O’Neill, the families of the victims thanked him profusely and told him that his actions had soothed the souls of their departed ones. Anonymity thus became an impossibility for O’Neill and finally he went public with his side of the story.
The man is a hero to billions yet he says that it was just his muscle memory that helped kill the wicked terrorist. Today, he takes things normally as they come and yet he still sometimes remembers that day when he fired two bullets through Osama’s skull bringing him down forever.
