The fans of Bono must be worried sick over their hero’s convalescence. However, the words of the band members did not let on why the injury took place and how it occurred either. Bono’s real name is Paul Hewson.
The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen also cancelled an appearance on a show since Bono could not be with them for obvious reasons. They did say that Bono would hopefully heal fast enough and make it back to health in no time. He was a fighter and a warrior and nothing could hold him back. They thanked Jimmy Fallon and others on the show for their patience.
Seems like the Tonight Show will have to be put on hold for a while. The Irish rock band will be taking a hiatus off work too. The group was supposed to give a performance from today till Friday. But it was not to be. Bono is 54 years old and the accident which caused his arm grievous harm was in a cycle spill.
"It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down," U2 said in a statement. "Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."
Bono is not new to accidents. He suffered back injuries about half a decade ago and so the band’s tour was put off. And the man it seems is accident-prone. His airplane’s hatch opened during a landing recently too.
While he was saved by the skin of his teeth in this mishap, the police are still investigating why the airplane hatch underwent an opening at that exact moment. Bono has led U2 to the heights of fame in the past. Their 90s Zooropa Tour brought them instant success and a lot of applause.

As for their album The Joshua Tree, it was big hit with the public too. The rock band has spun off such all-time singles as “Lemon”, “Yahweh” and “One”. Their music has a magical, mystical quality to it which is brought about thanks to the cooperation and collaboration of both The Edge and Bono. They are the John Lennon and Paul McCartney of U2 (literally).
