According to Variety NBC is charging a record $4.5m for a 30 second Super Bowl 2015 ad slot. The high price is though not the reason why some car makers turn away from the Super Bowl.

We already reported that Volkswagen will sit out the Super Bowl 2015. Besides the German car maker who had the huge Super Bowl ad in 2011 with the ad titled "The Force", Jaguar is not returning to the Super Bowl.
Jaguar has advertised in the Super Bowl the first time last year. Lincoln also has decided to not run a Super Bowl commercial in 2015.
