"We have never given up on releasing The Interview and we're excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day," said Michael Lynton, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, in a statement according to THR.
THR also reports that The Interview will be available online at the same time. It is not clear which VOD service will offer up The Interview. With all the free publicity The Interview got, online demand will be crazy.
James Franco is excited about the news and posted on Twitter "VICTORY!!!!"
The Interview is a college humor comedy. It is entirely harmless and should have never become the reason for the damage the hackers did to Sony in their attack.
