LoopPay has used its Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology to build a widely accepted contactless payment solution. The meeting of minds, that is the bond between Samsung and LoopPay, will lead to the creation of a new digital smart wallet. It means that we will soon see Samsung's own Apple Pay competitor.

LoopPay can extend to areas that are greater in number than such a service as Apple Pay. The exact amount that will be paid by Samsung for the acquisition has not been stated in clear words.

With acquisition of LoopPay, Samsung actually wants to build its own mobile wallet to counter the growing influence of Apple Pay. The MST technology used in LoopPay is very different from the NFC technology employed in Apple Pay’s systematization.
