The second album ‘Smoke + Mirrors’ of the rock band Imagine Dragons secured the number one place on the Billboard 200 chart after Drake album ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ falls to second place.
The rock band Imagine Dragons just trumped the Billboard 200 for being crowned the number one album of the current week. The band’s album Smoke + Mirrors snagged the top spot on the chart recently. Smoke + Mirrors is the rock group Imagine Dragons’ first ever number one album.

The number one album on the Billboard 200 is based upon a statistic called multi-metric consumption which includes album sales, TEA (Track equivalent albums and SEA (Streaming equivalent albums. The album Smoke + Mirrors was debuted on the 17th of February 2015 by Interscope records. According to Nielsen Music after the 22nd of February the units for Smoke + Mirrors increased up to 195,000 before the week ended with 172,000 albums actually sold.
Smoke + Mirrors is the groups second album, the first one being Night Visions. Night visions’ success helped the band Imagine Dragons in gaining international prominence and sold over 2.5 million copies in the USA alone. Their first record included hit songs such as the Grammy winning song ‘Radioactive’ which was also their biggest sensation. Other popular songs on the album were ‘Demons’ and ‘Its Time’. However Imagine Dragons’ first album Night Visions only reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
The band has recorded produced two albums in a timeline of just two years while on tour and proved their worth. The new album Smoke + Mirrors also has a few successful singles such as ‘I Bet My Life’ a quirky single full of energy and tunes that sets the Imagine Dragons apart from the rest of the rock band genre.

Imagine Dragons is set to finish their international tour from their last album but rather than taking a break they are preparing themselves for another tour immediately. The next tour entitled after their second album Smoke + Mirrors will begin in the June of 2015. The tour will visit various locations in the USA, Canada and then reach out to even other continents.
On second place in the Billboard 200 is Drake’s surprise album ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ which took a downward spiral after a heady competition with Smoke + Mirrors. For a while the competition was tough between Drake and Imagine Dragons album but ultimately ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ lost its footing and fell one place down.
