Apple launches Shot on iPhone 6 Campaign

Just when Samsung and HTC announce new phones with 16MP and 20MP cameras respectively, Apple launches a new campaign showing off great photos shot with the iPhone 6.

The timing is perfect, as always. Apple launched today on the homepage a new campaign titled: Shot on the iPhone 6. The campaign highlights awesome photos iPhone 6 users have been making.

The feature is basically taking over the Apple homepage just when Samsung and HTC announced their new flagship smartphones at the MWC 2015 with much higher mega-pixels than the iPhone 6. Apple still relies on a 8MP sensor while Samsung packs a 16MP camera in the new Galaxy S6 and HTC integrates a 20MP camera in the new HTC One.

Apple says: "People take incredible photos and videos on iPhone 6 every day. And here are some of our favorites. Explore the gallery, learn a few tips, and see what’s possible with the world’s most popular camera."

The thing is that the iPhone is indeed the most popular camera. It has been for a while now.

The Apple iPhone 6 camera features in addition to its large 1.5-micron pixels and ƒ/2.2 aperture the option to capture 1080p HD at 60 fps, 240-fps slo-mo, and time-lapse video. Apple introduced new features to the 8MP iSight camera in the iPhone 6 like a new sensor with Focus Pixels, improved face detection, and exposure control. Focus Pixels are enabled by the new Apple-designed image signal processor. They provide the sensor with more information about your image, giving you better and faster autofocus that you can even see in preview.

Last week Apple released an ad that highlights the iPad for film making with the voice of legendary director Martin Scorsese.
