Vector Smartwatch has 1 Month of Battery Life

A new company is entering the smartwatch market. The Vector Watch is supposed to have a 30-day battery life and will be compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows.

The Vector Watch could be a surprise entrance into the smartwatch market. The Vector smartwatch is supposed to be an intelligent and beautifully-constructed smartwatch that works intuitively. Vector says that the Vector Watch is genuinely different to the current smartwatches on the market.

It is not designed to be a second-screen for phones that give you continuous information and notifications. Its focus is on giving you the right information, at the right time, and in the right way. The hard facts that the company released so far is a 30-day battery life, and that the Vector Watch works with iOS, Android and Windows.

Vector has a very interesting team that includes Joe Santana, the former CEO of Timex. The core of the Vector Watch is the brainchild of CTO Andrei Pitis. He has been working quietly on a smartwatch project for some time. It was the technology that Pitis developed that attracted Joe Santana to take the CEO role at Vector Watch.

Beyond the smartwatch, the development focused first on an end-to-end technology platform specifically designed for the wearables space. With the technology development underway, the focus shifted to creating a truly wearable and beautiful watch, with the attention to detail that transforms a piece of hardware into a desirable piece of jewelry.

The Vector Smartwatch is designed by Steve Jarvis who has worked for Nike Vision and Nike Digital Sport before joining Vector.

We predict that Vector will unveil a hybrid smartwatch. The information display will be some sort of overlay or inlay in the watch face that is mostly a physical watch. Think Withings Activite with some sort of display. This is the only way to offer a 30-day battery life. We know from the Pebble Watch that an ePaper display allows for a 7-day charge. There is no full digital smartwatch display on the market that can run for 30 days on a single charge.

Smart's CEO made an even bigger promise about the Swatch Smartwatch. He said it does not require charging. What he likely meant is that you can't charge it and have to replace the battery. We assume that the Swatch Smartwatch will have a similar hybrid smartwatch concept to get a battery life of about a month.

The Vector Watch will be unveiled during the time of the Basel World 2015 in a private event on March 19. Vector Watch is not a Basel World exhibitor. The Vector Watch site has no information yet. It shows a shade of a watch as background, but it is not clear if it is resembling the actual Vector Smartwatch.
