Idris Elba said about him becoming the next Bond: "Honestly, it’s a rumor that’s really starting to eat itself."
Daniel Craig stars as James Bond again in the upcoming James Bond: Spectre movie coming out in November. It is not even clear when Daniel Craig retires from Bond, but rumors about who should be the next Bond are already going on since at least a year.
One name that pops up a lot is Idris Elba. If true, Elba would be the first black James Bond. This week though Idris Elba himself smashed the Bond rumors involving him. He said at an event at London's British Film Institute on Tuesday according to THR: "Honestly, it’s a rumor that’s really starting to eat itself, if there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it’s gone."
He also said that there have been no talks with Bond producers. He actually blames Daniel Craig to spread the rumor. "Daniel Craig actually set the rumor off. About four years ago he said Idris Elba would be a great Bond and then it started to creep."
I agree with Daniel Craig though. Idris Elba would be a very strong Bond. His performance in Luther is captivating.
Earlier this week Christoph Waltz smashed another James Bond rumor. He said in an interview that he will not play the legendary villain Blofeld in Sprectre, but Franz Oberhauser.
The 24th James Bond movie stars Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz's as the villain named Oberhauser, which was announced in December. The Bond girls are Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux. Monica Bellucci will play a character named Lucia Sciarra and Lea Seydoux is Madeleine Swann. Monica Belucci still looks amazing at the age of 50.
The new Bond car is the best looking yet. The Aston Martin DB10 concept car is just amazing.
Spectre will be in theaters on November 6, 2015. The first preview trailer has been released end of March. The full first Spectre trailer is expected to be released soon.;
