The Bump App for Apple Watch keeps Mom and Dad Up-To-Date with Pregnancy

The first pregnancy app for the Apple Watch is here. "Glance" through your pregnancy now.

The Bump Apple Watch App allows moms and dads to track their pregnancy anytime and anywhere at a "glance." The Bump has launching a mobile-first, personalized website earlier this year. The site targets mobile-savvy millennial parents. Currently, 70% of traffic for The Bump site is through mobile. An Apple Watch app is an obvious offering for the site.

The Bump Apple Watch app is notifying parents of the start of each new week of pregnancy, including calendar appointments and suggested to-dos, with the ability to check off a to-do, add a to-do or schedule an appointment.

The app supports Siri to add a to-do or appointment. The Apple Watch app for becoming parents offers images and information on how big the baby is (e.g. the baby is the size of a lime), based on the week of the pregnancy.

The app also provides headlines of top stories pertinent to the week of pregnancy that will handoff to the  iPhone to read the full article.

Not to be missed is a countdown to the due date. A photo feed of the weekly belly photos that users have captured in the mobile app rounds out this pregnancy Apple Watch app.

Now becoming parents just need to get their hands on a pair of Apple Watches in time. The Apple Watch starts shipping Friday, but new orders arrive at the earliest in June.

The Apple Watch starts at $349 for the small case (38mm) Sport Edition. The Apple Watch Pre-order starts on April 10 in 9 countries (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US) and the Apple Watch ships on April 24.

The Apple Watch introduces a new design and iOS-based user interface created specifically for a smaller device. Apple Watch features the Digital Crown, a new way to scroll, zoom and navigate fluidly, without obstructing the display. The Digital Crown also serves as the Home button and a quick way to access Siri. The Retina display on Apple Watch features Force Touch, a technology that senses the difference between a tap and a press, providing a new way to access controls within Apple Watch apps.

The Apple Watch introduces the Taptic Engine and a built-in speaker that together discreetly enable an entirely new vocabulary of alerts and notifications you can both hear and feel. Apple custom-designed its own S1 SiP (System in Package) to miniaturize an entire computer architecture onto a single chip. Apple Watch also features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with your iPhone. Besides the smart watch features the Apple Watch keeps time to within 50 milliseconds of UTC, the universal time standard when synching regularly with the iPhone.
