Lenovo unveils Z51, Z41and Ideapad 100

Lenovo introduces new range of high end laptops along with an affordable Ideapad 100

Lenovo took on the stage at the Lenovo Tech World in Beijing to unfold three new laptops. It includes two new Z series laptops that are aimed at heavy users that demand high performance whereas the third one is the all new Ideapad that is a direct competitor of the Chromebooks. All the three laptops unveiled today go on sale on June and will ship with Windows 8.1.

The higher end offerings, namely the Lenovo Z51 (15 inch) and Z41 (14 inch) both come equipped with Full HD 1080p display (200 nit). On the processor side, you get to select from a range of Intel Core i Processors with the 5th Generation Core i7 being the top offering. On the gaming front, you can equip your Lenovo Z Series with discrete AMD graphics whereas expandability options include bumping the ram all the way up to 16GB DDR3 Ram alongside pumping the storage to 1 TB with option of a standard HDD or a SSD/HDD hybrid. Both offering of the Lenovo Z Series feature Dolby DS 1.0 Home Theater Surround sound speakers.

The Lenovo Z51 comes in at 24.6 mm thickness and weighs in at 2.3 kg whereas the smaller sibling Z41 comes in at 24.4mm and weighs around 2.1 kg. The higher end Lenovo Z51 also features an all new Intel RealSense 3D camera with 1080p video alongside a depth sensor. It allows you to scan 3D objects and then send it to your 3D printer. You can also play games with gesture control. The Lenovo Z41 just features a standard 1 MP Webcam.Pricing wise, the smaller sibling, the Lenovo Z41 starts at $500 while the higher end Lenovo Z51 with 8 GB Ram and a Core i5 processor will cost you $600.

Coming over to the new Ideapad 100 now. The all new Lenovo ideaPad 100 comes in offerings of 14 inches and 15 inches. The resolution of the screen is 1366 x 768 (200 nits). These are powered by Intel Bay Trail M N3540 chipset that couples it with 8GB of Ram. On the graphics front, they feature Intel Graphics with the option of either a 500 GB HDD or a 128 GB SSD. The 14” model comes at around 20.2 mm thickness while weighing in at 1.9kg whereas the 15” model measures in at 22.6mm while weighing 2.3 kg. The Lenovo Ideapad 100 feature 1.5W speakers, a 0.3 MP front facing webcam and a battery that provides up to 4 hours of battery life.
