Chris Pine may join the Wonder Woman cast as Gal Gadot’s Love Interest.

The new Warner Bros movie ‘Wonder Woman’ may get Chris Pine added into its cast. Sources state that the famous Star Trek actor is currently in negotiations to join Gal Gadot in the upcoming superhero movie for Warner Bros. If Pine makes it to the movie then he will be playing Gal Gadot’s love interest Steve Trevor in the origin story.

The previous director Michelle MacLaren has been replaced by Patty Jenkins who will be directing from a script by Jason Fuchs. The movie is said to be released in 2017. Among the producers is Zack Snyder the director of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’

According to the comics Steve Trevor was an intelligence officer in the United States Army during the World War II and his plane gets crashed on Paradise Island, which is an isolated homeland of the Amazons.

Over here he is then nursed back to health by Diana who is the princess Amazon and falls in love with Steve. Diana follows Steve to the outside world and there she becomes Wonder Woman and also Steve’s co-worker.

Many rumors had been spread regarding the role of Steve Trevor and it was being said that Scott Eastwood has been selected. However this is not the case. According to Variety, the studio tested many actors but then decided to get a more high profile name. Plus Pine won over the production executives and even Gadot which led the studio to pursue him for the role.

Chris Pine is a renowned name having starred as Captain Kirk in the last two Star Trek movies and is no stranger to the big screen. Gadot and her Wonder Woman will also be playing a very important role in Snyder’s upcoming ‘Batman v Superman’ which will be released next March.
