Pope Francis has urged precautions regarding environmental change. He has proposed certain measures to counter the wholesale destruction of the ecosystem.
Pope Francis has warned the world’s leaders, businessmen and industrialists regarding the rape of the natural environment via rampant pollution, resource depletion and nuclear fallout.

He also called for conservation of resources and thrift in matters having to do with the precious amenities the earth affords us human beings, in a lengthy leaked letter, which was obtained and published by L’Espresso magazine. Lifestyles will have to be radically altered and huge changes will have to be made in order to lessen the carbon footprint of mankind.
The current spiritual leader of Christianity whom all Catholics look up to said that if mankind does not divert its habits from extravagance and wastage, it will face a slow yet precarious downfall in every way.
The Pope in an encyclical that got leaked said that pollution of the land, sea and air will have to be curtailed if we are to have a greener and more sustainable future. As for the issue of global poverty, something will have to be done fast otherwise insurrections and revolutions will be the order of the day.
Pope Francis in fact suggested that a political body was needed that transcended the United Nations. This agency would provide justice and material resources for the world’s downtrodden and oppressed lot. And it would also lend all the moral support to those in need of motivation to better their lives.
The Pope hinted at the fact that environmental destruction was essentially a problem created by man and that it will have to be solved by him too if he wants his survival on earth to be a certainty. The very industrial base of society will have to undergo a radical shift if it is to be more eco-friendly and green to its very core.
Pope Francis denied that cynicism or an “anything goes” approach was the way to solve the problem. Rather it would require a monumental effort by mankind to pull itself up by its bootstraps.
All it will take is all we have got. And he said in what was a bold statement that blind faith was not the answer either since action would have to be taken and this was not a time for passivity and apathy.

The fact that the Pope’s message was leaked out before it could be revised for its final form was something that some of the members of the Vatican have said is an attempt to minimize the role of religion. Some of the words used by Pope Francis were very poignant. He is a wonderful man who is caring, loving and concerned about social justice in an unjust world.
