They were joined by a star-studded line-up including Patton Oswalt, Dennis Quaid, Martin Starr and “Magic Mike” actress Olivia Munn to read the script written by Coen brothers in front of a huge crowd.
Michael Fassbeneder was performing Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, the character which was originally played by Jeff Bridges in the movie. The actor showed up on the stage in a casual outfit, wearing cargo shorts, a black T-shirt, flip-flops and “The Dude” signature bathrobe while Jennifer Lawrence was wearing a loose white-lined dress and playing Julianne Moore’s character “Maude.”
Michael Fassbender was very committed to his role and was reading the lines with usual ease and calmness. “I think Fassbender went a little too method on this one.” Patton Oswalt said who was playing John Goodman’s character Walter Sobchak during the performance.
Since the reading was live, the chance of a fumble or two was always there. Jennifer Lawrence and Olivia Munn had a script mix-up. All the cast was confused when Munn read Jennifer Lawrence’s opening line. They immediately swapped the scripts and continued reading.
The entire cast remained incredibly energetic and enthusiastic throughout the course of the show and received endless cheers and applause from the crowd of more than one thousand.
