Iconic rock band The Rolling Stones’ guitarist and one of the original member’s documentary “Keith Richards: Under the Influence” will premiere on Netflix on November 18, the streaming service announced on Tuesday.
Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, who directed the documentary about Richards, said.
“If there’s a Mount Rushmore of Rock & Roll, Keith’s face is surely on it,” Neville said in a statement. “He has always represented the soul of rock music – for all of the light and dark shades that implies. To my relief, Keith Richards turned out to be a real man – full of humor, knowledge and wisdom. That’s the real Keith we’ve worked to capture in our film and I’m honored to bring it to a global audience via Netflix.”
Keith Richards’ solo album titled “Crosseyed Heart” is also due September 18. This is Richardss third album overall and first one over the past 20 years. His last solo album “Main Offender” was released back in 1992.
The latest album contains 15 tracks, while the first video “Trouble” dropped on earlier this month. The song got guitar support from Waddy Wachtel, drums from Steve Jordan and keyboards from Ivan Neville, all of them are the members of the band “The X-Pensive Winos” formed by Keith Richards in 1987.
“I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again,” said Richards. “There’s nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you’re going to come out with on the other end.”
