The Baywatch movie is in development. Dwayne Johnson has already been casted in the movie. Now Zac Efron is in talks with Paramount to join big-screen adaption of 90s hit television series.

The details about his character are not disclosed yet. But one thing is clear that movie is finally getting into gear.
Paramount is rumored to be working on Baywatch movie since last year. Seth Gordon has been reportedly tapped for directing the movie adaptation. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift are writing the script. The duo has written the screenplays for 2009 “Friday the 13th” and “Freddy vs. Jason” as well.
Baywatch will be produced under the banner of Johnson’s production company Seven Bucks and Montecito Pictures. Beau Flynn is also working in producer’s capacity.
It will be the fifth time when Flynn is collaborating with Dwayne Johnson. They have already worked in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Hercules, San Andreas and Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon, due release in 2016.
The plot of the movie is kept under the wraps. But according to Variety, the movie will follow comedic route There is no word on the remaining of the cast.
Baywatch series was aired NBC in early 90s. The series was about the lifeguards who patrol the beaches of California.
Dwayne Johnson confirmed his inclusion in Baywatch on October 2013 via Instagram. He posted a shirtless photograph of himself straddling a watercraft.
“Rumors are true…we’re making Baywatch the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully funny as all hell.” The Rock wrote.
