Snapchat recently announced the release of TravelMode. The new feature will make the lives of traveler a lot easier. TravelMode will stop snaps from pre-loading if a person is on a cellular network. The feature will allow Snapchatters to retain their data limit.

The feature was released on Monday for both iOS and Android. Once TravelMode has been enabled the user can choose the content they wish to upload. The content can be chosen by simply tapping the display.

Snap from friends, Discover, and Live Stories can all be selected. At the same time data usage can be saved. The feature will give users control over what they want and don’t want to view, according to The Verge

Especially for travelers who have pre-paid data packages. The loading of unwanted snaps will not eat up any of their data. The issue of heavy data usage has been a problem brought over by many users.

Data usage remarkably increased after Snapchat released Discover in January. All the stories and videos in Discover take up a lot of data and automatically upload it. The problem was complained by many users on mobile networks. TravelMode is finally the solution users have been waiting for all this time.

The update released on Monday also adds more emojis to the snaps. A new sticker picker allows many stickers and they can be placed anywhere on the app. Animated snapcodes can also be exported on the smartphone.

The files such as videos and photos can be shared on other social media platforms. The eye icon beside the view count will now tell whoever has also viewed the snap before. The update will simplify the entire process.
