Derek Connolly will now be heading towards the Skull Island Project.
Derek Connolly is a frequent writing partner of renowned director Colin Trevorrow. He was lucky to be a co-screenwriter on this year’s blockbuster Jurassic World.

He will now be working on ‘Kong: Skull Island’. The movie is a Legendary and Universal’s monster movie that steeped in the lore of King Kong.
Well Derek is going to be doing some late minute work. As the movie has already reached the casting stages. And Kong: Skull Island is now heading for a late October start in Hawaii, according to THR.
The movie will be starring Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Corey Hawkins. Apart from this Kong: Skull Island is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. And the movie will basically see a team of explorers go into a mysterious island that is the home of the king of the apes.
Apart from Derek Connolly, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Max Borenstein have also worked on the script. Max Borenstein had worked on Godzilla as well.

The movie has been scheduled for a March 10, 2017 release. Derek is also known for writing Trevorrow’s 2012 Sundance breakout ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’. Derek will not do a more substantial rewriting task. His work will mostly involve polishing the existing screenplay of Kong: Skull Island.
