The picture is quite empowering and it is sure to shut down the haters of an all-female Ghostbusters. Melissa McCarthy posted this picture on her Twitter account. Ghostbusters female cast and crew members are just killing it at all that ghost-hunting.
Hollywood still deals with a diversity and gender problem. And that is what Melissa McCarthy has been fighting for. And after seeing such a picture full of female cast and crew members the future of Hollywood seems to be bright.
The highly anticipated all-female Ghostbusters is ready to hit the theaters in 2016. Coming back to the gender parity or equality in Hollywood you will be surprised to know facts. Women made only 14 percent of protagonists. And 30 percent of all speaking characters featured in the top 100 grossing films last year.
These figures were released in a report by the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University. When talking about women behind the camera we are talking about even worse percentages.
Women only comprised 17 percent of all directors, producers, writers, editors, executive producers and cinematographers working on the top 250 movies.
