iPhone 6S Flashes Screen for Selfies

New report says that iPhone 6S enhances front camera system for selfies.

Selfies are still the rage and the iPhone 6S will reportedly improve selfies made with the front camera especially in low light situations. Apple is not doing that like some other smartphone makers by adding a flash.

The iPhone 6S will use the display as a flash according to 9to5Mac. This is trick stolen from Photo Booth. A white screen briefly flashes up when the shutter is pressed. How well that works remains to be seen.

The new 9to5Mac report also confirms the 12MP camera rumor and 4K video recording feature of the iPhone 6S. Apple might even use a 13MP sensor cropped to 12MP for image stabilization purposes.

Apple has not increased the number of pixels in the camera sensors since 2011. It is kind of a mantra of Apple. They still manage to give the iPhone exceptional photo qualities. On the other hand Sony will reveal a new smartphone next week with 23MP sensor. The Xperia Z5 is not only high in camera resolution but could also be the world's first 4K Display smartphone.

The iPhone 6S is expected to be unveiled on September 9. The venue is likely the large Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Rumored features of the iPhone 6S include force touch screen, A9 CPU, reinforced aluminum shell and 12MP camera. The iPhone 6S is also rumored to adopt the motion wallpapers from the Apple Watch.

The iPhone 6S is not a dramatically new iPhone compared to the iPhone 6 but demand will be likely setting a new record.

Apple has reportedly ordered close to 90 million iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus units for 2015.
