Microsoft, yesterday in an event, announced the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The phones are the much anticipated Microsoft Lumia’s Windows 10 flagship smartphones for this year and are expected to be publicly available next month.

However, for all those living in the US they won’t be able to buy the new phone until their carrier is AT&T or if you are satisfied switching to it.
That's because the Lumia 950 duo will be available to this particular carrier only. According to Tuula Rytila, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for phones and new devices; Microsoft feels that it is "the best distribution for this family of devices".
Microsoft has opted for the particular carrier deal route recently, yet none of its rivals are as yet doing this for their top of the line devices.
Microsoft is using this strategy because it thinks that this is the best way to get better marketing for the devices from AT&T if it's the only carrier selling them.
However, the deal for the AT&T will be only for US and in the areas like Europe the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are reportedly going to be available from all the carriers.
