  • The first trailer of ‘Preacher’ is a Holy War!

The trailer for the next comic to TV adaptation by AMC was released alongside the Sunday episode of The Walking Dead.

The very first look at AMC’s ‘preacher’ has been released. Preacher is an upcoming TV adaptation of the novel of the same name. The first trailer was released along with the premiere of the Sunday episode of The Walking Dead.

The trailer shows an all-out Holy War taking place in Texas. The story revolves around a preacher by the name of Jesse Custer. The troubled Southern preacher is embroiled in a Holy War.

The preacher is possessed with by an extremely powerful demon and sets out to find God. Apparently God is missing and the preacher is set to find Him since having developed super-human abilities.

Accompanying the preacher are his ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish Vampire called Cassidy. Tulip is also a sharp shooter and played by actress Ruth Negga, while Joseph Gilgun plays Cassidy. The preacher himself is played by Dominic Cooper.

The supernatural action drama/thriller has been produced by the duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The comic Preacher was originally penned by Garth Ennis and drawn by the artist Steve Dillon.

The first trailer of the upcoming series shows it is just as deeply dark and disturbing as the comics. The Preacher comics already have an avid fan base. Time will tell if the series version by AMC will live up to the image of the comics.

If the trailer is any indication the series will be dark and violent like the bloody pages of the comic. AMC already knows how to bring a gruesome story to the live screens as seen in The Walking Dead. The Preacher will premiere somewhere in the middle of the year 2016 on AMC.
